She Did It by JT Lawrence was another great read by the author. It was such a gripping book for so few pages. I can't wait to read more.
Like so many of Lawrence's stories, this battered wife story has a surprising and very creepy twist to it. Lawrence rarely disappoints with her clever turns on normal situations, and this story is no different from the rest.
I loved it.
This is another story that I feel like would have been better had it been turned into a full novel rather than a short story. There were many things that could have been explained more. There were many parts that could have been drawn out more. I did enjoy the idea behind it though. It's definitely a story I would have been hooked on from page one if it was a novel and drawn out a lot more. I mean I was hooked, but I wanted more.
If I'm honest, I'm not a huge fan of short stories - probably because I personally suck at writing them, but Ms Lawrence possesses (what I sometimes believe is to be a supernatural) ability to tell a story that grips the reader within the first three lines. Just when I thought I knew what direction this story was heading, yet another well-timed revelation steered my off my path of prediction. As always, she does not disappoint! A thoroughly enjoyable read.
